Nicolas Schulwitz

Co-Founder · CEO

Healthcare entrepreneur with more than fifteen years building and scaling digital health solutions. Nicolas reads market shifts early, brings go-to-market expertise to the rollout, and rallies teams to make innovation tangible exactly where it is needed.

Background

Nicolas Schulwitz has spent more than 15 years connecting healthcare, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation. He grew up in a family of physicians and saw early how bureaucracy drains a doctor’s working day, leaving little time for what care is actually about: the patients.

During his studies in the US, he witnessed how patients on Hawaii reached mainland medical expertise through video calls — the moment that locked in his conviction that digital health is where to put his energy.

Career

Since then, Nicolas has built companies and products that make medical care easier, more accessible, and more efficient:

• Founder and Managing Director of Patientus, Germany’s first video-consultation platform built on online appointment booking (Jameda).
• General Manager of CLICKDOC (CompuGroup).
• CCO and Managing Director of Medflex — AI-supported software that reduces the load on physician teams.
• CCO of HASOMED, the German market leader for mental-health software.

At DANIC

For Nicolas, DANIC is the consequent next step: use technology so that healthcare professionals are actually relieved — because supplier companies ship better software faster, and digital innovation reaches the place where care is delivered.

Off-hours

Sport still defines him. After many years in professional basketball (1. and 2. Bundesliga), today golf, fitness, and the occasional glass of good wine or a whisky tasting balance the workload.

Daniel Deckert

Co-Founder · CTO

Tech leader, author, and healthcare innovator with deep experience in software development, scaling, and digital transformation. Daniel pairs technical excellence with real patient experience and builds the systems that let software teams ship faster, more professionally, and with more impact.

Background

Daniel Deckert stands for tech leadership with an entrepreneurial mindset, deep healthcare understanding, and the ambition to make technology genuinely effective.

His personal connection to the healthcare system did not begin at a desk — it began with a defining patient experience. After a serious accident in 2007, seven weeks of hospital stay, several operations, and long rehab phases followed. During that time he experienced directly how much patients depend on orientation, support, and good processes — and how strongly healthcare professionals, despite their motivation, are slowed down by systems, documentation, and operational pressure.

Purpose

From that experience grew a clear purpose: build solutions that strengthen patients and relieve medical professionals.

Career

Across his career, Daniel has led large software and engineering organisations, including teams of more than one hundred engineers, and held senior roles at BIOTRONIK, Ottobock, CGM, HASOMED, and HealthyCloud.

As the author of Empathic Intelligence: AI and the Transformation of the Patient-Physician Relationship, he works closely on how AI can support the relationship between patient and doctor without losing the human core of medicine.

Off-hours

He spends his time outdoors — with his wife, his horse, his drone, or one of the tech gadgets he regularly tries with curiosity.
